January 11th: Tatting Split Rings


Following the business meeting [see Agenda in your e-mail], the program will be on 
Tatted Split Rings.    

If you have done splint rings:  please bring two shuttles, wound with two different colors and scissors.    You may want to bring extra shuttles and thread to try the split ring pattern(s).  

If you already know how to do split rings in tatting, Cathy will have two doodad patterns that use split rings and books with patterns that use split rings.

Lafayette Lacemakers Upcoming Events
Lafayette Lacemakers, Inc at Dickens of a Christmas on

Saturday, December 7, 10:00 to 3:00, at Lafayette Brewing Company in historic downtown Lafayette.  We will be demonstrating various types of lacemaking techniques, including bobbinlace, needlelace, and tatting.

Exhibit at the West Lafayette Public Library, from December 1, through December 31.  Lace on display will include Christmas and non-Christmas hand-made lace items.  Stop and view the exhibit during normal library hours.

Carrickmacross Class

The class following our next meeting is on Carrickmacross Lace.  MEMBERS-- Please notify Sally asap if you will be needing a kit.   Details in e-mail and newsletter.

Carrickmacross – Learn a bit about the history and techniques of this distinctively Irish form of needle lace.  Bring very fine sharp scissors and a lamp (if possible)
