Lafayette Lacemakers, Inc., is open to people interested in any aspect of lace
and lacemaking.  We extend our invitation to you to become better acquainted with lace.

Annual dues are
$10.00 per year

(July through June)
Lafayette Lacemakers provides support + resources for new lacemakers.  
Becoming a member of the lace group 
will not only put you in touch with other lace makers, 
but keep you up-to-date on what is happening in the lace world.

July Meeting + Program


The July program (following business meeting) is a Lace In.   Please bring anything you have in progress, including the June sampler (Intro to Estonian knitted lace).   Maybe create some small lace samples to share at community events.

 Small lace samples are needed for 
Lafayette Lacemaker business cards 
Please give them to Cathy --- many are needed to hand out at community events.

Lafayette Lacemakers meet at 9 a.m.
on the
Second Saturday
of each month

During the TAF renovations (probably a year), 
we will be meeting at the TCHA History Center, 
located at the NW corner of Columbia  and 6th Streets in Lafayette 
(just 2 blocks south of the TAF building where we used to meet).  

Currently, there is no sign on the TCHA History Center.  
The building is  across the street from the 
Lafayette City Hall and Police Station which do have signs.

On-street parking has no time limit on Saturdays; however, keep in mind, there is a
Farmers  Market in the morning, one block west of the History Center.     

In addition to on on-street parking spaces, there is FREE parking on Saturday
 at the Columbia Block Parking Facility, 
(located south of Columbia Street -- one block west of the TCHA History Center)

Enter the History Building on the east side, on the 6th Street side.  
Doors to the building open at 8:45am, meeting begins at 9am, followed by program.

July:  Lace-In.  (Anything in progress, including Introduction to Estonian knitted lace (June program). 
August:  led by Bette.  Holiday ornaments in any technique.  Bring any patterns or finished ones.
September:  No meeting or program.   Lace demo / community event on Sept 8th, TBA.
October:  Knitted Lace, led by Anne.  (either more Estonian or Shetland)
November:  Heart patterns in any technique.  Bring finished ones and patterns.
December:  No meeting - Holiday party
2019
January:  Lace-in (Heart patterns in any technique, anything in progress)
February:  Knitted Lace (topic to be selected)

MEMBERS:  Please bring more ideas for future meetings.  Keep an eye on your email for further details.

Reminder from IOLI ....

 it is time to plan celebrating 



Will you take a portable project with you to work on during lunch hour 
or in a waiting room 
or at a meeting?  

Will you get together with lace makers 
and demonstrate at a library 
or museum 
or historic site?  

Will you call a friend and talk about lace?  

Will you bake lace cookies or make Queen Anne's lace jam?
