There will be a business meeting, followed by our program, Romanian Point Lace.   

We are beginning with the crochet cord & will finish the program at the November meeting.    Members - please check your e-mail for additional details and supply list.

Patterns have been

distributed ahead of the meeting

for members to prepare for the class.

The meeting begins at 9am.

RPL Refresher

This program is only for members.

on making the RPL cord at the

Education 2012 - Classes for Members

January Class

Marelda Neckwarmer

Supplies needed:  150-175 yards of DK or lt worsted yarn, US 6 straight or circular needles (or appropriately sized needles to obtain gauge), one large button, which is optional.

February Class

Fabric Postcards

Learn basic assembly techniques for making fabric postcards.   The finished postcards will be mail-able, but they can also be miniature works of art, displaying your lace or other work.  

Participants need to bring:  one piece of lace or other 'focal' element of your choice,  base fabric cut apx 5" x 7", beads, threads.   (see the newsletter for additional information).

March Class

Romanian Point Lace hedgehog

This is a program for members only.    The pattern is available (now) for members to prepare for the March Class,   The pattern will be handed out to members during the January meeting.   

Details will follow regarding a refresher program (at the public library) for preparing the pattern and crocheting the cord.

Announcement:

The Hedgehog is the traditional mascot

of lacemakers and embroiderers,

because of the "pins" in it.   

The October program, 

Romanian Point Lace Hedgehog,

will be taught

in the Spring. 

October's program will be a lace-in.

Please bring one or more lacemaking items to work on.

You may want to continue making a 10-12" RPL cord.
