Lafayette Lacemakers Upcoming Events
Lafayette Lacemakers, Inc at Dickens of a Christmas on
Saturday, December 7, 10:00 to 3:00, at Lafayette Brewing Company in historic downtown Lafayette. We will be demonstrating various types of lacemaking techniques, including bobbinlace, needlelace, and tatting.
Exhibit at the West Lafayette Public Library, from December 1, through December 31. Lace on display will include Christmas and non-Christmas hand-made lace items. Stop and view the exhibit during normal library hours.

Directions:
Fort Ouiatenon is located at
3129 S. River Road,
West Lafayette, IN USA 47906.
If you are coming from the:
- North - Take I-65 to exit 178 and turn on the Indiana SR 43 south. At the intersection of Indiana SR 43 and Indiana SR 26, continue south on US 231 for approximately 1 mile. Turn right at the traffic signal on to South River Road. Proceed south for approximately 2 miles.
- East - Take I-65 to exit 172 and turn on to Indiana SR 26 west. Take Indiana SR 26 through Lafayette and across the Wabash River to the intersection with Indiana SR43 and US231. Turn left on US 231 south. Continue south on US 231 for approximately 1 mile. Turn right at the traffic signal on to South River Road. Proceed south for approximately 2 miles.
- South - Take US231 North across the Wabash River and turn left at the first traffic signal after crossing the river on to South River Road. Proceed south for approximately 2 miles.
- West - Take Indiana SR 26 to the intersection with Indiana SR 43 and US 231. Turn right on US 231 south. Continue south on US 231 for approximately 1 mile. Turn right at the traffic signal on to South River Road. Proceed south for approximately 2 miles.

Small lace samples are needed for Feast!!!
Members: If you have time to make small lace samples, please do! For Feast, need to be 'period correct', so be conscious of color [no variegated or glittery threads] and don't get too fancy w/pattern. No spiders are needed.

Tatted Lace Samples
Keep on creating tatted lace samples for the three demonstration events later this year.
Global Fest: Anything goes, have fun with patterns + colors.
Feast: Lace samples need to be 'period correct' so be conscioius of color + don't get too fancy w/pattern.
(spiders not needed this year.)
For Dickens: may want to use holiday / Christmas colors, + remember we don't use a lot for this event.
As always, keep track of your volunteer hours and turn in.

- 2013 Teacher/Class update- Due to personal reasons, Vera Cockuyt has unfortunately had to cancel teaching at the upcoming convention.
